Bisnis.com, JAKARTA — The Abadi Gas Field Project in the Masela Block has made notable progress toward sustainable production, with plans to commence procurement, engineering, and construction tenders in 2026 following the completion of its carbon capture and storage (CCS) technical study.

Inpex Masela Ltd., in collaboration with the Upstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Special Task Force (SKK Migas), has finalized a technical study on CCS technology for the Abadi Gas Field project. The study was conducted jointly with the Research and Industry Affiliation Institute of the Bandung Institute of Technology (LAPI ITB), providing a key foundation for implementing CCS in Indonesia’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) project to integrate decarbonization technology.
